we've talked about one of these too. Gotta blog your progress so we can see how you get on.

seaneeboy says:

Certainly will! It's great, all the stuff you need comes with it... Not sure where's best to get food and things, that's tomorrow's mission!

beth says:

fun! is that thing fox-proof?

20th Aug 2008, 20:15

Puddlepuff says:

And your actually going to lock up chickens in there? For fun?

rhys says:

Cool - more moblog hen owners!

Looks like the wire spreads out a little to make it fox proof. One of ours got attacked (but not killed) by a fox the other week so watch out!

We've got an electric fence around their enclosure.

seaneeboy says:

Beth - aye, it's specially designed with that skirt thingie to stop any nasties getting in there...

Puff - you gotta do something to fill your weekends!

Sorry to hear that rhys :( good idea on the electric fence... does that make them... battery hens?

Geddit?

Battery?

Oh suit yourself.

Try pets@home or similar regional giant pet stores for the food and whatnot. Simple!

Hehe, Tom and Barbara!

I can see you in Tom's woolly jumpers and Jo makes for a very good Felicity.

seaneeboy says:

I would wear my woolly jumpers more if Felicity Jo didn't keep nicking them!

rhys says:

It's made a remarkable recovery!

Seriously though, its a worthwhile investment, I don't think they are that expensive.

hildegard says:

Are you getting anything fancy? A couple of Silkies would make good blogging... ;)

21st Aug 2008, 22:33

seaneeboy says:

Sprocket - Thanks, that's very charitable of you!

rhys - yeah! I think we're going for 3 instead of 2 for maximum eggage.

Hildegard - we're getting some Warrens. Silkies look like dusters!!

22nd Aug 2008, 14:05

hildegard says:

What about Cochins as a compromise? They're a bit like Isa Browns (Warrens, I just like the sillier name) but have daft feather pantaloons...

seaneeboy says:

Heh, well we'll see what the farmer has in stock :)
