My mate Harry Newbould is the spitting image of the venerable Mr Garvey in this shot. If I wasn't such a computer dullard I'd figure a way of posting a photo of him so you could check it out for yourselves. For now though, I'm afraid that you'll just have to take my word for it! xx

Tom(tscoulton-at-hotmail-dot-co-dot-uk) says:

A belated congratulations lads! Kinda difficult not to simply echo everyone else's comments but you really do deserve this recognition!

Having met you x amount of times in Big Hands or at gigs I have to agree with the myriad of reporters who say you're just great people!

Any chance of coming over to Barcelona to play (or just if you fancy a good few cheap beers!)? You've already got a bit of a following here, so why not pop over in winter to cheer us up when the sunshine's gone?!

I filled up ! I have sulked at the injustice of your under-ratedness for years despite mark and lards best efforts. I had also lost interest in music awards of ay kind and lost faith in the music industry - you have restored that. Your lyrics are pure poetry, yet simple, down to earth and move me to tears. The music absorbing, moving, beautiful. I'm 35 and should be above crushes on singer/songwriters but Guy, I make an exception xxx

Karen(wernisaf-at-aol-dot-com) says:

discovered you after the performance of "Grounds for Divorce" on Jonathon Ross ,bought the album, saw you at Delamere Forest - where had you been all my life? Love the intelligent lyrics, Guy you are a true poet - fantastic news on the award, can't wait to see you live again... I'm 52, and have hooked in the whole family...love you mate! (ps saw Pink Floyd at Knebworth in '76 and thought it didn't get much better - after 32 years of seeing gigs, it just did!)

Just come back from Corn Exchange Cambridge. Best yet! PLEASE don't leave us for those warehouse venues - they'll eat into your soul and we need you to keep us sane. (and hope Chris gets better soon....)

From the beautifully gentle Little Blossom to the uplifting crescendo that is One Day Like This, loved, loved, loved it!! No-one more deserving than you of Mercury prize, about time you got the recognition you wholly deserve.
