Joikuspot help please, any clever folk out there

I downloaded joikuspot light onto my N95 8GB two days ago and after finding
that I needed to use a static IP address from the eee pc user forum, got it working through my phone perfectly.

It worked fine and I was very impressed, but found that I couldn't log in to my gmail account. So having spoken with Alfie yesterday, I downloaded joikuspot premium, which I thought would give me the access I required, but I've so far been unable to establish an internet connection of any kind. I've tried the different channels and auto/ad hoc connections, but the closest I've got so far, is for my eee pc to say the connection is enabled and that I am connected, but I can't browse websites at all.

I've spent hours trawling through various forums trying to find the answer, so I thought I'd throw it open to the good folk of moblog. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the record, I'm using an Eee PC 701 with its Linux OS, a Nokia N95 8GB and I'm on 3.

SLG - I am definitely considering it, or perhaps trying hobo's idea could be the answer, but turning it off repeatedly with a hammer!! :)

No joy as yet, using the premium version with vista on my bigger laptop still won't allow login to things like gmail and so far, even the joiku people haven't got back to me. Not entirely happy about that seeing as how I did email them last Thursday lunchtime.

I've got it working! And on a N95 8GB too. I'm posting this with it now. Funny thing is I can't seem to log-in to GMail with it either but everything else works. It's a great little app.

Using the lite version on my Satio I have the same problem on Firefox and Chrome but can log into Gmail using IE8.
