Argh. One of my least favourite sights. I bought puncture proof tyres to combat this. Worth their weight in gold.
arse indeed! it never happens at a convenient time - how could it? Agree with Taniwha, due to the prevalence of thorns and broken glass in these parts I invested in some Bontrager "Hard Case" tyres - they have a kevlar sleeve which is pretty bomb-proof, and they're semi-slick - much easier to ride on tarmac but will cope with offroad too - they'd take minutes off your time (around £16 apiece, well worth it)
I'll look into them I think, as my back tyre is already wearing down a lot faster than I'd expected.
yeah, knobbly tyres are not meant to survive on tarmac for long!
I was expecting a little longer, but the compound is really quite soft.
