The sign tickled my fancy. How does one drive a camel safely and is there a
special licence to drive one?

The camel rides on Cable Beach are a touristy thing that you really have to
do or you can't say you've been to Broome.

so have you done one?

Yes, I took a camel ride. Fun. Smelly, Touristy but just had to be done. :-)

I'd been joking with work colleagues that (courtesy of a stressful restructure that we've been subjected to for the last 12 months) they had to wait till I was on a camel at Cable Beach before ringing and letting me know if I still had a job to go back to. They almost managed to make the joke live. I actually got a phone call 12 hours later from the HR manager to offer me the job I'd applied for. Wonderful news. Now I can pay for the pearl earrings I bought!

Thanks D. Courtesy of the credit melt down, I will soon be doing a two hour each way trip to work every day for the new (old) job- sigh! That wasn't in the plan. However, at least I still have a home, eh!
