"Hi, this is Ian Botham and welcome to my blog. We started, the walk is up and running and what a great response we had on day 1. People turned out in Taunton, tomorrow it's Windsor. 200 people in Taunton joined us so the challenge is to the rest of the towns, the 8 more coming up, come on do better! Beat us and help us smash leukemia.
Please come and see us.

Hope you join us.

Bye for now."

Hi Sir Ian & group, Jan & I had the honour to meet you in Startford and joined you on the walk throught Charlecote Park and wanted to say that we lost our daughter Gemma to ALL xmas 2006. We did the walk in her memory and would like to thank you for everything you do to help stop other families going through what we went and are going through. God Bless, Jan & Tony

Hi Ian - I covered your Hannibal (1988) - East Coast 500 (1990) - and South Coast walk (1992) - and Top Cliff - Thirsk - BBC Breakfast Time (1986) - and I literally have hundreds and hundreds (if not thousands) of great shots from those tremendous walks - and video - all still stored - safely - in a cardbox somewhere in England -
II'm not sure if you can recall me - but I was that youngish - dark-haired - skinny chap who tagged along with the over-size trainers - For the last fifteen years I have been living and working in Thailand - married to my dear wife Lek -
I have tremendous admiration for you - I know from personal experience - how exhausting it was for you and your fellow POW on those early walks -
I didn't realise that you were still walking for such an honourable cause - you and everyone who assists you have my upmost respect -

All the very best -

Kind regards and best wishes -

Hi Ian, Kathy and all the family
I am one the three women who turned up at Chester-le-Street on Saturday to see you finish your latest walk. We would like to say a big THANK YOU to Kathy and your mother in law and father in law for being so welcoming and adament that we met you. As massive cricket fans you can t imagine how thrilled we were to have met you. The photos we had taken with you arrived the next day and we'd like to thank you too for making sure that that happened too.
My sister has leukaemia so I am so grateful for all the fundraising that you do towards that cause. You are a star in more ways than one and deserve all the praise and honours bestowed on you.
Thanks again for your trouble and next time we will definately stay and have a drink with you.

Hi Sir Ian, I think what you do for charity is brilliant. My husband and I didn't realiise you were coming to Harrogate until the day before and unfortunately my husband had flu. Nicola Read(nicolajayneread-at-hotmail-dot-com) says:

My brother died from Acute Myloid Leukaemia just over 40 years ago, aged just 2 years and 11 months old. The advance in Leukaemia Research since then is unbelievable and I think Sir Ian has done fantastic raising as much money as he has towards such a worthy cause. At least these days there is hope for parents of children diagnosed with this terrible disease, unlike when my brother had it.

Unfortunately my brother died the year before I was born, but it doesn't stop me thinking about how he suffered, or how other children suffer. I was honoured to walk at the Llandudno part of the walks, and although I only raised £475 I'm pleased to have taken part in memory of my brother.
