They were so amazing. Well worth getting across to see them, although the final day of the exhibit was officially yesterday, so these may be taken down already.
Thanks for the h/l
I walked past these the other day - but didn't have my camera on me - they were amazing - but tucked off down the side of Foyles - however you could get an amazing reflection from the window back at the whole image (just as it was almost too big to take in when looking at it full on). Great shots nige.
Thanks. I must have been there over an hour, and I took loads of pictures.
The gallery pieces on Greek street were great too. The whole space looked run down like a favéla, and all of the photos were pasted up on wooden doors and frames. The connection with the eyes is really great.
I saw these prints on the facade accidentally too and was pleasantly surprised! Brilliant conception
these are great
I stumbled on these on the first day of showing. First or second day with the D3 but sadly hadn't worked out how to use it properly ... and it showed
Amazing - I want to do some stuff like this? How do you project? D'ya need permission? I know the Justice for Jean campaign put his image on the Parliament a few years back
I read an article about the artist a little while back, which showcased the Brazil work. I only found out about this London exhibit at a very late stage, so I was pleased to catch the last day.
Doc, it's the time of evening & the street light that make these look like projections. They are actually huge paste ups. If you have a look at the site there are images of the works actually being applied to the walls. His work is like a cross between photography and bona fide street art.
too bad he had to go all the way to brazil to find some 'women heroes'.
Quite right t!
Swamprose, I'm sending JR 'round to your house so you can give him a piece of your mind ; )
