This little bit of sticky tape, which is about 1 inch square, cost me about 6 hours in traffic yesterday and is the reason I find myself sitting on the A13 heading into London in the middle of rush hour.

The story is mostly one of frustration and bad luck, but here goes....
Had a call from a school in South London on Friday afternoon. Urgent problem being that the lock/doors were jammed on a cabinet with about 15 laptops inside, so the children couldn't do their work. I went there on Monday, with a ton of traffic in both directions. Spent about 30 minutes on teh floor in the classroom trying to fix it, to the point where I broke the tool I was using. I then gave up and apologetically explained that I would need to take it away. A member of staff helped me carry the cabinet down two flights of stairs, all 100kgs of it, out to my van for the fun drive back to the office.
Finally, I arrive back, wheel the cabinet into our workshop, explain the story saying "it's totally jammed, look....", only for the door to open after sticking a little, and the tape to fall out from the bottom of the lock mechanism!!
I was understandably thrilled :)

Yeeeees, I can well imagine!

Have you preserved the tape for posterity, or did you pound it into oblivion?

I've kept it. It now lives in a small bag, in my desk drawer :)
