Tracy Emin says in her own explanation (why do they have to explain?) that there's not enough love in the world and it's making a space to think about love.
Given its location (in the massive Liverpool Anglican Cathedral), I assumed it was a comment on belief.

Off at a tangent, its agreat cathedral and I have some very dark/gothiky pics of it last time I was up there a rew months back. will get round to posting them :-)
