Hildegard, you know Melly so well. The chirruping is pretty constant at the moment. I agree with you about Woolies, though I don't think I'd bought anything in there since these horses three, maybe four years ago. It seemed to be all tat.

How is Oscar? Is he a Christmas tree climber?

Oscar's good, thanks. There was no tree climbing last year, so am optimistic. Propose lavishing him with toys, treats, indulgent visitors & catnip. It may work. Not confident enough to hang the glass baubles though.

Hildegard, Oscar sounds positively angelic compared to Melly - who would only be angelic in the sense of being driven to perch on top of the tree.

Beautiful, and a great tree alternative. Can't have a tree myself, too many animals who would find it irresistible.
