Sucker for reflections and repeating geometry. Erratic uploader but always taking more pics. Now more behind than ever thanks to several recent work trips.
Currently shooting with a Panasonic DMC-TZ3, which has all the zoom I could ever need, but lacks some other refinements. It'll do until there's an affordable SLR with enormo-zoom that I can fit in my pocket; watching the Four Thirds consortium with interest ...
There's plenty of snow here for all who want it ;) And more coming down!
Yeah, they've been blasting for avalanches as well. Sobering actually - 10 people were killed in one just up the road from here a week or so ago :-/
Lahvely, but yeah, snow's serious stuff up there. They only keep the Trans-Canada Highway open by letting an artillery regiment loose on it in winter...
Thanks, ladies :)
Hildegard, I didn't know that - but I can't say I'm surprised!
hrumph, Hildegard. we have snow plows. but I always love the snow cannons--they run all night usually. you can buy your very own personal one if you want.
SR - It's not a slight on your highway, but avalanche control on the Rogers Pass is beyond anything but 105mm Howitzers. Seems to me good organisation to have a few squaddies up there doing target practice... :)
sorry, H, I misunderstood. We are probably the only country that considers shooting howitzers in mountain passes as part of our national defence. if that road is closed by avalanche, it costs millions. this is a big avalanche year.
BOOM!
Ladies, your country continues to impress me.
And instill some fear, but mainly impress ;)
Not my country! I just take an intelligent interest, my sister having married into the place... ;)
Heh. My interest is largely self-serving - hope to move there one day.
