Woo! I love smart cars - but it looks like someones painted bananas over your numberplate...
Personalised preg numbers are so passé - fruit-based number plates are the future!
They're so much fun to drive, shoots away from the lights like a little rocket.
And you can fit it in most overhead lockers!
Is this in addition to, or a replacement for, the other car?
In addition to! I am officially a 2 car man. Although the Midget needs a bit of work in preparation for the summer so isn't currently my daily driver.
It needs a clean but I feel like I should haggle at the garage for at least a half price car wash...
Oooh, nice. I considered a Smart when I needed to replace my near-dead 206 a few months ago. But I, personally, don't much like the styling, and I don't think they do a diesel model, do they? Plus there's no room in the back for a dog crate. :) They do drive nice though - although a discerning driver like yourself obviously wouldn't be seen in something that didn't drive nice.
My Panda is pretty much the same in terms of costs/efficiency as the Smarts, iirc. Bit bigger. Less well appointed inside. Swings/roundabouts.
They're due to be bringing out a diesel soon I think - but I seem to remember mixed reviews.
I did consider the Panda - I especially like the 100HP version, but the Smart won out in the end.
nice, i looked at these when i brielfy dreamed of owning a car. how are they at getting up hill?
my instructor put me off because she really didn't think they'd be very good in an accident :(
They're pretty darn nippy - 1 litre engine in a car weighing about half that of a normal saloon means it's fairly quick.
And they're pretty safe too 4 star euro ncap!
Last year I was behind a smart car that had a tyre blow out. It rolled and rolled like a football coming to rest inches from a oak tree. The car was a complete mess, clearly a write off, but the young lady walked out with only a few cuts and bruses.
