Cheers - it does have something of that; we zoom through the stonework to catch the conversations of the people on the path, then interior shots locating those people left behind as the guests are shown the grounds... I'm getting The Osterman Weekend meets Gosford Park... ;)

Ah, this partial view is pure Hitchcock, you're right, but the Manderley of the novel was very different. Have a gander at Menabilly one of the two houses on which she based Manderley - can't immediately find any pics of the other...
