Cheers kev, I reckon I can go faster than this once the weather warms up a bit and I'm not wearing a jacket etc. Also, switching to street tyres instead of the dirt ones I currently run should help.
As for a ceiling, the same journey takes on average, 14-15 minutes in a car, so I doubt I could really get too much faster than 18 minutes :)

you'd be surprised, Paul. Think how much of that time in your car you spend stationary, or moving slowly. When I lived in Leicester, I worked at the opposite end of the city. The journey took 25 minutes by car and 20 minutes by bicycle!

That's the thing about cities, it usually is quicker to leave the car alone. I've done the work drive in 11 minutes with no traffic, but generally it's not that much slower now by bike :)
