Last month DD played Juliet's Nurse in the school production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. It's a big part and she was quite magnificent....

"Hey, lamb! Hey, lady! Hey, you lazy bones! Hey, love, I say! Madam! Sweetheart!"

From Act 4 Scene V

Yay her! Definitely looks the part there - good cap.
Always go for the character roles - much longer career in those than the romantic leads. ;)

Oh the hat! How she hated it! It was an abridged version, about an hour and a half and as far as we could make out her's was not only the biggest girl part it was also the only girl part with any humour in it. Those of us who went to one of the 3 performances (me, BS, Bro J and his wife and Dazzle_Dust) were reminded of *Nursie* from the Elizabethan Black Adder series...

Well done, DD : ) My very own DD just performed in an Oscar Wilde adaptation - as a 60 year old. Talented girls, both ; )

Well done Daughter Doe! Juliet's nurse is described in the play as *ancient* too. Don't you find watching the young perform these very adult roles and plays gives the whole performance a surreal feel like Potter's *Blue remembered hills*.......
