I'd sit. That's one heck of a view.

It is a wonderful spot. Actually one of my favourite times to be here is at midnight. Yes, I do sometimes come to this spot at midnight. Sitting on that bench in the dark, you can see the lights of towns on the other side of the Channel, and the lights of ships going past, and the lights of aircraft looming up out of the darkness as they prepare to land at the airport nearby. To sit and breathe the air coming off the sea and listen to the waves crash on the rocks beneath I always have the feeling that at that particular moment there is no place on earth that I would rather be.

Either Flat Holm or Steep Holm, or possibly both.

It is a lovely image. Definitely can see the appeal at midnight.

The dog isn't impressed when we go here at night, though. He obviously thinks I'm crazy! (and the wife does too!)

I tell you what.... on a warm (note the emphasis on warm) Summer night, I will come with you and sit on the bench...and we can be crazy together....deal?
