Getting ready to start drying

Electricity and water back but the carpets have to come up and the house will basically be uninhabitable for about a fortnight. The amount of stuff we have to move to remove the carpets so the house can be dried is daunting.

Caine says:

What a mess and a lot of hard work!

Thanks Caine, Mandy., OjoAzure and Viv. Yes, Caine, a major task. Mandy., we were due to have estate agents in today to value the property. Now we have a lot of the work associated with moving, but no happy end result. OjoAzure, we have someone coming in the morning to assess that risk. Thanks, Viv, we are sorting out some alternative accommodation while the house is dried and refurbished:)

Make sure you get good accom for the next few weeks. After that you'll have a lovely, fresh de-cluttered 'new' home. Extreme spring-cleaning!

Thanks parabolichobo, swamprose, Puddikat, Helen, JD and Minkey.

The carpets are all gone and the dehumidifiers are running now, which makes it feel like I'm sitting in a tumble drier. The rest of the family are with friends tonight and tomorrow night and I'm talking to the loss adjuster tomorrow about alternative accommodation.
