I'll ask the silly question. What story does this rock tell you?
I was a geology major in college for a bit. I can say a few things about that rock.
This rock was a granite once, about 1400 million years ago. The bands you see were caused by squeezing and stretching about 420 million years ago at depths within the Earth where the rock behaved like plastic due to the heat and pressure. The squeezing and stretching was caused by collision between continents during the closure of an ocean called Iapetus.
You forgot to mention that it's a metamorphic rock, but you did say that it was reheated & pressurized.
With all due respect, I was avoiding using too much terminology. If you look in the tags you can see how I would describe it. You don't need to say "metamorphic" because it is obvious from the rock name :)
