You are absolutely crackers, man. Sound is amazing. That is a Twin Peaks Badalamenti effect if ever i've heard one!
I like to keep busy. Stuff like this keeps me from sitting down all day (either at desk+computer or sofa+book), both of which are very bad for my RSI. Big outdoorsy kinda stuff, like this, I can take very slowly and with lots of thinking-breaks.
Makes a lot of sense.
I still can't get over the sound from this thing though, it's phenomenal. Just ran it through my floorstanders and the rumble is literally palpable.
It's harmonitastic! Behold the power of the Von Karman vortex street.

That was recorded straight out the amp, unlike the video above which was me holding my phone next to the speaker. It's not very clear, I was having problems getting the levels right. Will try again soon - harp is currently undergoing final glueing and weatherproofing before installation.
It should be noted that this was all Rich's idea - he's been building various acoustic wind instruments for a while now, I just decided to jump on the bandwagon.
I have plans for a wind-powered drum machine at some point too.. :)
it IS a wind generator. it turns wind into electricity.
if I were to add a preamp stage to the harp itself, it would probably be solar powered - the harp will play in much lighter winds than would be needed to power an amp.
This is brilliant!
Delia Derbyshire would be proud.
I would love to record a DAT of it sometime....
Well done.
