Thanks! I've been meaning to take shots like these for ages, but today was my first chance.
There will be bigger files, for zooming-in on the ceiling detail, on Flickr later :)
Great set, do love the lantern - got that proper dizzy Ely feel. :)
I'm enjoying these, but what's that black squiggle in the last shot?
It's a recent addition, topped with a cross, and may represent the path to salvation, or something like that :)
Life goal: Fly to England. Go to Ely. Get Euphro to show around the Cathedral.
These are so fabulous Euphro!
:D
That's a worthy life goal Silar. Swamprose and I spent only one afternoon in Ely with Euphro, and it was not enough!
Fabulous!
That top ceiling shot especially.
You went for the Sigma then?
Mine's virtually glued to the camera body. No more walking backwards to try and get everything in.
Thanks! Yes, I did go for the Sigma. It's a great lens and it lives on the D40. There are much higher res versions and a lot more on Flickr now :)
oh so jealous of that lens! i'd love to do that with lincoln cathedral, i've always felt like i could take a thousand pictures and never capture it properly, this lens would do it! i love how stained glass casts coloured shadows on columns, there's a fab photo my dad took at my graduation in the cathedral like that. your flickr ones are great :)
Thank you very much :D
If you'd like to see where you could get this lens second-hand, which is what I did, then drop me a line :)
Thank you for sharing these fantastic shots. Just found them and shared on Facebook :)
