Come away, O human child: To the waters and the wild with a fairy, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand
-- William Butler Yeats
Heaven is a kiss and a smile.

If I caught the world in a bottle
And everything was still beneath the moon
Without your love would it shine for me?
-- Sting. Until.
Shine on me, sunshine
Rain on me, rain
Fall softly, dewdrops
And cool my brow again.
Storm, blow me from here
With your fiercest wind
Let me float across the sky
'Til I can rest again.
Fall gently, snowflakes
Cover me with white
Cold icy kisses and
Let me rest tonight.
Sun, rain, curving sky
Mountain, oceans, leaf and stone
Star shine, moon glow
You're all that I can call my own.
-- Maya Angelou
Yes, I was looking down at it and kindof slanty; it's got sedum planted in it. (My grandfather's, which his mother planted in it in the early 1940's! The same plant has outlived them both.)
I uploaded a photo I had scanned a while back and tried cleaning up...I added the green. Those planters are the exact same ones. I have 3 of them. :)
(My great grandmother is on the right; my great aunt and her husband are on the left.)
Very cool. The plant pot reminds me simoulaniously of a turtle and an elephant's foot...
I'm with Wendle on the turtle and elephant's foot. Lovely series.
