This morning (Sunday5th July) our Leven hockey team took part in a
Bridlington hockey club mini tournament and I am proud to report they
WON The team of Nick, James, Sam, Ian, Amy & Ollie were a man down and
so joined forces with the players from Skirlaugh to make the Skleven team!
The children worked great together. They beat St Mary's 1 - 0, Bay Primary
2 - 0, Hornsea Heroes 2 - 0 and drew with Martongate 0 - 0. In the play off
they went back up against Martongate and won 1 - 0, with Sam scoring the
goal. When I told Mr Saltonstall who they were playing in the final he was
worried as Martongate were last years winners, but the team pulled through.
Each player got a medal and we have a very nice trophy to share with
Skirlaugh. So well done to everyone. Even though I had to get out of bed
at 8.30 it was well worth it

Mr. Saltonstall says:

What a fantastic achievment! Well done team. After a year of hard work and training for weeks on end it's all come together. It's been a lot of effort to get there but I have really enjoyed working with you and coaching you this year. I hope you've enjoyed it. I'm very proud of you all and you should be too.

Thank you to Mrs. Elliot for looking after the team on the day, and also to Graham and Russ for their help on the day too.
