DD borrowed Bracken so that she could participate in the village dog show. Bracken is a permanent at the local Lurcher rescue. DD also helped with the Scurry which is a kind of doggie speed trial....

She looks a natural. And Bracken looks adorable. Love the way he's looking up at her in that last shot.
Could the borrow become permanent?
Tim will be getting jealous. :)

Can't imagine how Bracken got to be a permanent - she's a very attractive beast.

V impressed with her handler too - got the dog's full attention & co-operation; just look at that gaze. Nice brisk forward motion too. I trust they won something?

This is the first time DD has ever shown a dog. The 2 classes she entered were *Junior handler* and *Prettiest bitch* (Don't you just love that one? BS was tempted to enter me...)

She didn't win anything but there were loads and loads of dogs (and kids) there. I think the dog lady chose Bracken for DD because she has a particularly sweet and placid nature.

The dog lady has 4 or 5 lurchers and a Rottweiller that are not up for adoption and they are all gorgeous. Seeing her walk them is a sight to see! I can well understand why she couldn't let Bracken and the others go..

Caradius: Tim need not feel jealous! DD loves cats and dogs. Dog love is easy to find around here, she has lots of doggy friends. Cats are rarer and she would like a cat and it is our intention to get one BUT the last of our rescue rats is immortal. I often compare him to Cpt Jack Harkness but BS thinks he is much more like one of the the immortals from Highlander (There can be only one!), maybe the Kurgan. We have a reputation for having the longest living rats in ratdom... Some of ours are legends.
