Went to Oxford to visit a buddy of mine temporarily residing at John Radcliffe. Spent the afternoon ambling and taking some photographs...

t, I walked past but didn't go in as I was unsure how long I might be stuck in there! It looked great. I'll certainly go at some point.

'Jun, thanks. They were quite entertaining to watch :)

Thanks for the highlight ; )

Me too, AF. I like the bike wheel in the corner. If you go to Cambridge or Oxford it's pretty hard to take a photograph without a bike in!

Thanks you two :) I like the first because of how the wind caught the guy's jacket.

I'm with you on the first one, Nige. The shop looks so perfect and serene and there's this guy blazing on through with his jacket flapping in the wind. Very nice.

they're all ace.

aside from the biker, it looks like Oxford is exhausting and you just have to sit down.

Thanks Lyzardly. Joker, thanks, and I agree, it is.

swamprose, i thought of you when I was there, and how much you'd love it. There's a lot more bustle than Cambridge for example, but it's charming and it does have some very stark contrasts (in architecture, people and feeling) in the turn of a corner.

All fantastic shots. The top one has a real timeless feel to it. Could have been taken 30 years ago. You've captured the essence of the city so well.

I thought that you may be interested in a monthly fun posting that I started in July called "5 on the fifth" where you take 5 random photographs on the fifth of the month and post them somewhere on the net. You then add a comment on MY blog with your name, location and link to the site containing your photos and I update my blog entry so the world has your link.

Here's a link to the last "5 on the fifth" entry

and a link to postings with misc. photographs

and to the latest blog entry
