We're in a sort of film club with neighbours, you know, a different film each Wednesday. Tonight's was *Calendar Girls* the WI one with Helen Mirren. The point of this ramble is about to be revealed..

The character played by Annette Crosbie had a greyhound and DD and I turned to each other and said *It looks just like Tim off moblog*. Everyone else said *ssshhhhhh....*!!!

Loved the film though, haven't seen it before.

Edit: Top one faved!

Oh arse holes to them! I hardly ever go because there's someone there who can't stand the eff word. There's only so much Goodnight Mr Tom and Charlie and the chocolate factory I can take....

Does rather limit the amount of films that you can watch these days, doesn't it?

I always want to ask for 4 weddings and a funeral. There's a bit in that which sounds like a tourettes attack.

One of the weddings was filmed in the church in the next village to here.

It is lovely. The grass grows long because there are no animals grazing here and the grass doesn't get cut (apart from the paths).

Faved the third one, I love that look Tim gets when he's all happy!

Greyhound next door to us, Micky, she had some really horrible stuff happen to her before she was rescued and is terminally shy. We've been here most of a year now and just today she came close enough to sniff my hand and get a treat and let me pet her a bit. I even got a wag - a little one. Her mom and I cried, this is the first time she's ever come up to anyone else voluntarily. :)

Tim's a great excuse to get out to that lovely spot so regularly.
I have that exact shot, of the pebble-beach, only with a fisherman on it.

silar31, thanks. That's a nice story.

Yes, some of them get very badly treated, but some are also naturally nervous. We've had Tim since he was two, he never raced but he's still quite a nervous dog much of the time. If a stranger tries to stroke him he will usually shy away, especially with men. He's better with women and he has no problem with children. He will never take a treat out of the hand. I don't know why that should be, as far as we know he was abandoned as a puppy and spent the first two years of his life in rescue kennels so there's no reason to suspect he was mistreated but who knows?

Joker, your absolutely right. If it wasn't for Tim I wouldn't get out so often. I'd probably hardly ever get to that spot.
