Little acorns

I've been working on this idea in silver for a little while now but
couldn't work out how to do the locket bit. Margaret showed me
something she'd been working on in copper and it gave me this idea for
the lid. I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out. Smells really
good too :)

These are all camera phone photos btw, will take some proper ones some other time.

Really cute. How long does it take you to make one?

Nige - this one I was quite pleased with because it took me under 4 hours - but then it took another two hours to polish and it's still quite pitted. Hopefully I can get quicker - maybe invest in some silver dip. Need to work out some prices. If i was to work out a real price for labour and parts these would be far too expensive!

Facto - ah well, this one is quite a bit bigger than yours, yours is by far the dinkiest as the prototype :) but yeh still quite small for a pomander.

Four hours, damn! Still it's awesome. Reminds me a little of a guy on Etsy who fosters jewellery out of monkey nuts. It's really good. I just love this.

nige - yes this silver smithing really is a labour of love at the moment, hopefully i'll get faster once I've worked out what on earth I'm doing. I'm all big ideas and little skills at the minute!
