I remember when we first went to look at 'Stoke' as we were moving there with Alan's work. We had been living in and outside Carlisle for 2 years but that office was closingwe wanted to go back to Manchester but we got Stoke. We went to look and drove up and down the road between Newcastle under Lyme and Hanley and in various looking for a town centre! I cried! I had loved our life in Carlisle. But we settled in pipe Gate then later bought a house in Norton in Hales and I taught in Market Drayton and on the whole it was a good place to live, pub just over the road from the house :) and close enough to M/c to keep in touch with family and friends easily. I got very fond of those bottle kilns :)
