Lately i have been thinking about doing my own 365/DailyMe thing. I wasn't around when it was all en vogue, but i'm wondering if i should start my own anyway.

But but but... i don't know.

You lot that have already done one, how did you find it? What joys did you get out of it? But most of all, what did you not enjoy? What did you find difficult about it?
I'd like to know what problems i might run into, because it'd be useless to start only to find myself wanting to quit after a week.

Bah. I hate indecisiveness.

I will if you will? :P

I'm now considering a WeeklyMe; less pressure.

Great shots :D

Wendle says:

Thank you, Euphro! They took me quite a while. I'm a perfectionist for wanting to get in right with the camera; no cropping!

I can't even imagine doing a dailyme... the pressure involved must be huge.

but I say go for it anyway. ask nige, etc for advice.

Caine says:

Nige, SLG, and JokerXL all did theirs successfully, I'd hound them for answers. ;D DailyAlex is still doing his.

The creative demands are extremely high, I'd spend time going through some which finished. Try writing down 50 creative photo ideas for a daily me. If it gives you trouble, remember you'll need 365.

I wouldn't do one, because I don't care to have my photo taken, never have, and a plethora or body bit shots aren't that interesting.

nige says:

Tori will kill you if she finds out you said that Caine! She finished, not SLG!

If you're a perfectionist then a year of photos shouldn't be a problem Wendle! I found mine relatively easy, but there are always days when it's just hard enough to get a photo posted, let alone do something creative. I found mine well worth it, and over a year later I'm still doing it, I just don't post. It becomes habit forming. Some days I used to take over an hour to get the shot right, others it would take a minute.

I described a few feelings on my last day here:

Just do it! Most people don't get to the end so you'll have plenty of excuses if you don't make it! Hehe. Try taking the road less travelled... ; )

Caine says:

Uh oh. *Hangs head* Wendle, Tori finished her daily me.

If those two photos are a taster we would be in for a treat if you did it - fantastic shots.

Wendle says:

Damn you, Nige. I had just about talked myself into doing a WeeklyMe, but after reading that post of yours, i think i may just go for it.

I'm also going to take Caine's brilliant advice and jot down a good few ideas. Then if i get stuck for inspiration on any day i'll have a list to consult :)

Oh dear, what am i doing?

I don't think you'll have problems finding ideas, really I don't. It's probably motivation that you'll need, and also not forgetting to take a shot on busy days! Some days I really struggled because I had so much on. I was a stickler for getting my shot in before the midnight deadline, but on a couple of occasions I just missed. I wanted an image on here every day, and once I started I didn't want to deviate from what I said I'd do in the first place. I felt like I'd be letting myself down in front of the whole moblog community.

Now I find the taking of the dailyme almost zen-like. I can find the spot in the day where I'm partaking in the most interesting moment, and click the shutter. I do it much quicker now, but it's still done. Dailyme is a challenge, a weekly shot isn't, so what's the point? You won't be doing anything with a weekly shot that you don't already do, in which case why bother?

Every day, do it! We'll all be cheering!
