This is my personal blog, not a venue for saleable images. In fact, because it's here that I share things that are important to me with the members of the moblog community, photo quality's not my priority. Events, occasions, achievements, thoughts, trips and experiments - you'll find them all here. Contact me for the development version of my photo portfolio, for a selection of saleable images or visit my dance photography blog or my website for cuttings. And remember that all photos remain my copyright unless I've specifically said otherwise.

a head for tango

I got a temperature. Went to get it checked out and they decided to keep me in.
And in.
And in.
Wasn't that ill to start with and felt completely normal by the following morning despite less than 3 hours sleep because of waiting from 11:00pm to 4:45am to see a doctor.

But my neutropils were way down so they pumped me full of antibiotics 3 times a day till this morning. After a second conversation today's oncology registrar I discharged myself and went to Tango Al Fresco.

My neutropils aren't any higher but the white blood cell count is. This (and the temperature) may delay my next chemo.

I'll know more tomorrow when the other oncology registrar calls me :(

But love the photo - those shoes are quite something. I was so taken with them I nearly missed the lost head!

Glad you're out and :-( that you had to go in hospital in first instance. Yes saw only the shoes then the head..didn't know you could loose your head playing tango..hmmm ...maybe more dangerous that you think ;-)

I'm glad the photo worked... it felt and still feels so wrong to leave the emphasis off something like that but I didn't see how else to get people looking at the shoes first

Two guys were shooting the head with various styles of sunglass, I went up and asked why (for a fashion shoot) so I asked if they'd like me to pressgang a tango dancer with good shoes for another background...

btw I feel fine. Low neutrophils apparently don't make you feel ill, they just make catching any kind of bacteria based infection potentially disastrous

A fashion shoot? I guess the 'model' has few demands at least! :)

AF - Some would say so. When you find someone who connects with you in tango it's very sensual, you move as if you're one body and sometimes the walls spin or you lose contact with anything other than your partner. Certainly I've seen many woman confusing this closeness and ease of communication through dance for something more... when the guys they choose might well be fantastic dancers but are nowhere near as attractive in the way they behave off the dance floor.

For me it's sensual, for sure.. But so far not sexual. It's also about communication - as a dance tango has one of the widest vocabularies I've found - and also discipline, control, and the joy of sharing and movement.

That all said, I don't think I've ever met a nicer collection of people in RL. The tangueros I know are considerate, thoughtful, sensitive people and while there are a number of blogs that cover the entire international scene, there seems to be very little gossip at all.

Thanks all
