I applaud your presence of mind, though. I met a stoat (in his winter coat!) on the ski-slope last winter and I was far, far too busy staring at his cute little face to even think about whipping out my camera. Then he fled, black-tipped tail behind him.

wow, i saw one of these run accross the road when i was walking the beezer last week. i didnt know wether it were a weasle or a stote. looked like this fella, so i think its a stote. :)
