...Is a 6.5 foot ladder down from my bed that's not secured to the floor.
You might notice a slight absence of photos from me over the next few weeks. As this post is illuminating, I have moved into a new apartment in Tokyo. My new job starts next week, too, and until the internet gets set up I am going to be rather boring and non-communicative (sob!).
I've never had an apartment with a loft before. It's really useful for keeping all my sleeping area stuff separate from the rest of the apartment, but I have to admit I hadn't been expecting it to be... quite... so high off the ground. As Maiko quite rightly put it, it's not something I want to be doing when I get home drunk! My mother suggested I sleep on the sofa on occasions like that. XD
It's a very small apartment, but it's brand new and very clean and shiny, in a nice quiet area with a lot of schools (Japanese people say that the more schools an area has, the safer it is to live in). I'm also right within walking distance of another potential workplace.
The next few days are going to be a frenzy of furniture deliveries. I'll try to resist posting photos of my new fridge and sofa - this might be exciting for me, but probably aren't special occasions to the general public. :)
So, until I post again! Keep yourselves occupied til I get back!
