Jane, thank you. 'Organic and sculptural' - I like that.

Twiglet, waving back again.

Wendle, the light was sun shining on the Somerset side of the Bristol Channel.

AF, thanks. The sky was nice and moody. We had the tail end of Hurricane Bill today. For some reason I was the only one on the beach in shorts and sandals, other people were in coats and wellies :)

Factotum, thanks.

JokerXL says:

XL-ent, with the flash & all.

27th Aug 2009, 14:03

cariadus says:

Joker, we must have pressed the submit button on comments at exactly the same time! Thanks, I thought the flash would make it a bit more dynamic and also emphasise the light in the sky.

taniwha, come to thik of it I think the structures you mean are called 'curtains', but could be wrong.

JokerXL says:

You really have that fill-in flash technique nailed. Ambient light levels are good, then just the right amount of blitz to lighten-up (and freeze) the foreground.
Like with those swans earlier, or Tim close up. great, dynamic effect.

cariadus says:

Thanks, I do like experimenting with flash and it works pretty well on my little camera.
