If anyone wants help me identify the stone in the pendant please feel

Beat me to it. :) Yes. Rutilated quartz. Lovely, too.

Euphro says:

Beautiful pendant. Rutile is Titanium Dioxide, as you probably know. The needles in quartz (described as acicular) are also known as "fléches d'amour". Rutile is commonly used in white paint and in sunblock because of its UV-absorbing properties :)

I NEED, HAVE TO HAVE, the pendant. I use (and so does factotum) rutile all the time as a glaze ingredient...it makes things break into the softest browns and blues. never seen it in this form...I have a jar full of it, all ground down.....did you sell it? this is a ceramics emergency...

aw I knew you'd know mr euphro! I could have made an educated guess you'd know too.. I think it's on my top ten now of stones. lovely it is. thanks for the extra info - i did read the wiki after i correctly identified it!

beth says:

you're in luck I didn't sell it! despite two people saying they'd come back for it. I guess it didn't help that I couldn't identify the rock. I totally would have done if I had had -any- time before the stall that wasn't dedicated to making, polishing, giving myself a claw hand and moblogging.
