This is an idea I got from craftastrophe - it was not however a craftastrophe itself. I picked up 27 ties for $2 at a thrift store and just sewed them all together and made a dress type shape - I am no dressmaker! Then I wore a childs cummberbund - also from thrift store, to give it some shape. My mum loves it and wants me to make one for her but I will not be making and more before I get a dressmakers dummy - about 1/2 hrs was spent with me pinning and repinning then getting my friend to help until it fit on me. I wore it to my birthday dinner and then a spring fling I was invited to.
