"And as you cross the circle line,
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You're a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly
In the corner of your eye,
Shining in the setting sun.
Well do you ever get the feeling
That the story's too damn real
And in the present tense.
Or that everbody's on the stage
And it seems like you're the only
Person sitting in the audience
Skating away, skating away, skating away
On the thin ice of the new day"

Paintist, it's all Billion's fault! :) I'm looking forward to playing with it.
Thanks, AF. I've never had a film camera, so it will be interesting. I'm not expecting much out of the first couple of film rolls, I haven't a clue about what I'm doing. :D
Thanks, Mara. I felt the Holga deserved a multiple exposure. :)
Ooh, I want one!
I loved my Lomo until it sadly broke.
I keep meaning to dust off my film cameras and take them for a spin until I remember about the cost of film processing.
Looking forward to the results of the Holga, though.
These are about the cheapest things called camera you can get your hands on. :) I'm looking forward to playing with it. I'd love to see more of Holga crowd here.
Wow, fantastic!
Like AmericanFriend I can't wait to see what you do with it :)
I predict much fun in your future! Will you process yourself Caine? That's what I do (with diafine), and then scan the negs. That's what i've found to be most cost effective, but it does tend to mean more b&w; instead of those usual lovely colours you get.
I hope so, Nige. :D I'd love to learn how to process myself, I did it years ago when I worked in manufacturing art rooms. That was a looooong time ago though. We'd have to adapt a space for a darkroom - we have the space, but getting Rick to do the adapting is another thing altogether. ;)
I don't quite understand - scanning the negs? That's another thing, I have a scanner which is serviceable, but it's not top of the line or anything. The first prints will be back tomorrow night. I fully expect them all to be absolute shite. We'll see.
Heheh. Well, I look forward to seeing them.
I don't have a darkroom per-se, I just use my toilet because it's the darkest room when I shut the door! I process the negs in diafine (which is the cheapest processing solution) then dry them out. once dry I scan them into the computer using a negative scanner, and then upload them to wherever. Haven't done it in a while, but I found that doing it that way was much much cheaper than paying for prints and then scanning them.
Aha. I don't think my cheap scanner will do negs. Hmmmm. I'll have to do some thinking about this one. If I manage to get un-lazy enough to bug Rick often enough, maybe we can get something set up over winter.
oh blimey. thanks to all the silly spam-trolling going on recently I missed this photo upload. good luck with the holga caine, it's a bitch to start off with, and photo developing can be costly, but it can be hugely rewarding if you persevere.
Thanks, Billion! I'm not expecting a good result for a while. I know this is going to be a learning curve, especially with it being a Holga. I'm always up for a challenge though, and your shots have been stellar and that's encouraging. :)
Good luck with the holga, I'm sure you'll get some great stuff out of it - I must dust mine off and take some flippin' photos soon! I'm inspired by bilion's recent posts!
As much as i love film photography, i don't use film anymore myself. Not since i found out photographic film contains gelatin :(
Aww. Well, Rick was very into film photography when he had his Canon. I've never done film and I'm looking forward to it. New challenge.
