Sprocket says:

camera today :-)

I really want to get hold of a macro lens, afterall I much prefer studying teeny tiny stuff than landscapes

Caine says:

You'll be on fire with a macro lens, if this is what you're able to do now. I'd like one myself. Still, I haven't been unhappy with the macro I've been able to do with my kit lens.

Sprocket says:

alas macros are twice the price of telephotos, time to start saving, either that or I've got to bribe Santa

24th Sep 2009, 23:15

Kostika says:

You're not the only one who needs to bribe Santa. I'd love a macro also.

Sprocket says:

if only there was a way of making one out of a couple of jam jars and some sticky back plastic

24th Sep 2009, 23:23

Caine says:

Yeah, I'll have to go with bribes too. Or haunt pawnshops. The nice thing about Nikkor lenses, they all fit, no matter how old they are. I wouldn't care about not having autofocus on a macro lens.

Really cool

Sprocket, you might google nikon extension tubes - you get a very close result to a macro lens using your regular lenses. Then later if you add them to a real macro... Look out!

thanks Mandy

harimanjaro says:

I've done a lot of my macro work using close-up filters. Cheaper than extension tubes.

Ewewew. How big is he? There's nothing for scale in these photos... although, do i actually want to know?

25th Sep 2009, 10:26

Sprocket says:

OK OK - getting a wee bit fed up with the spider pics with no warnings - (joker that's you too).

It's not helping as it's the time of year when they decide to come in the house from the woods & yes wendle they really are that big!!!!!!
Still nice capture sprocket

Sprocket says:

this will be my one and only spider photo, despite the fact I have a whole host of them living in my place at the moment

queserasara says:

Makes note not to go to sprockets - although feels it's nothing compared to stuff lurking around mine
