hehe... what you can't see from these photos is that depite being the pacific ocean, the water was about 3 degrees. Not good...

Besides, I'm back in Vancouver now, so no surfing for me for a while :o(

(thanks for the highlight by the way :oD)

ha... that makes me feel better. I'm trying to go learn kite surfing in Mauritius at the end of next month. Not looking to likely at the mo..

haha, if you're going to Mauritius, you definitely shouldn't be getting jealous of me. Vancouver is worse than England for rain!

Kite surfing sounds good. And a little scary. There's fantastic scuba diving there though.

I'm also trying to get a ... kayaking and belly dancing weekend ... in BC. it got agreed about 6 months ago but because it's such a long way from London I need to find some other stuff to do with it. The only other possibility I have is learning tango in Montreal, which is also not close... So... please, please, please let me know of any extreme / adventures stuff that's new or suddenly trendy or going

haha... ermm... do they specifically organise kayak and belly dance weekends then (they seem a tad unconnected)? BC is a long way to travel for a weekend (it's a 9-10 hour flight), but definitely worth a visit!

I'm not sure if there any new-fangled extreme sports over here, but there's an outdoorsy area called Squamish that has kayaking on rapids, white water rafting, rock climbing etc. Then there's obviously snowboarding/skiing. I met a guy here who did a mix of paragliding with snowboarding (snowboarding off cliff faces essentially). Not sure if that qualifies as its own extreme sport though.

Vancouver is meant to have the best cold water scuba diving in the world. Plus there's quite a few sky divers in the area.

Cool - thanks.

Apparently so. Also canoeing and yoga weekends and canoeing and photographic weekends..

Cold water scuba diving means I'd better brush up on my dry suit scuba before turning up. I hate being cold....

Hmm... still seems like a weird conbination, but if there's a market for it... Oh! The other big thing here at the mo is extreme mountain biking down ski slopes. That'll stop when the snows start again though. So you do all this fun stuff for work?!?!

yeah, I was going to try the cold water diving with my wetsuit, but it's only 3mm, and I think I'll die of hyperthermia, so I may invest in a drysuit.
