The longer list of artists exhibiting now:
TOES took off in February 2009, after an enquiry with the managers of the Templars Square shopping centre in Cowley, to use one of their vacant shops as a temporary viewing art gallery, and to have some art event going on in Cowley area.
There seemed to be a noticeable increase in the number of empty shops, and a few art enthusiasts waiting to make use of the space for creative activities in Cowley.
The TOES arts project was initiated to use the empty spaces as viewing galleries for the public by displaying art and to generate community interest in the kind of art that’s happening in the area. The participating artists are from varied backgrounds and disciplines, practicing different media. This variety of display will hopefully create an ‘art stop’ for visitors in Oxford, and also promote new artists works.
