An art project by my old flatmate Andrea (who made space for me in her flat when I arrived in London 3 years ago) featuring portraits of the people living in one of Hackney's various council estates that are due to be demolished (to make space for some luxury homes just in time for the Olympics).

You can find more about the project, artists and people featured on the walls of Samuel House on their website.

The second shot is the image I had in my head as a kid when I was playing the flute. The different tones or notes were open windows in this type of building with people looking out at the music floating by.

xx - do you think people need to know what the place looked like before? for those of us who have seen it it plays on memory, but i met a few people now who have no idea about the orange that was there originally...
