We're a charity working in Tanzania. Our aim is to eradicate poverty through education.

We work with mostly with the Maasai tribe who take their cattle to graze hundreds of kilometres from their homes. We're hoping to use the moblog technology to get important information to this disparate community.

Bolton vs Meserani

Just preparing an assembly to give at a school on Tuesday and came across this stark contrast of two images.

On the left is Bolton, an urban area not far from Manchester. On the right is Meserani, the village we work with in rural Tanzania.

How are the Maasai going to survive if their only option is to live off their livestock and there isn't a patch of grass in the area to graze cattle on?

Caine says:

Such a stark difference. There is so much work to be done, so much to be started, so much to correct. It's more important than ever that we don't screw up our local ecosystems, but being able to have a sustainable life is crucial.
