I asked a pal if I should title this picture "falkirk wheel in green" - he informed me that the wheel "looks more of an oatmeal colour" and so the revised title is as above. he also had no shame in taking the piss out of my photography, stating that the picture was "taken from a bad angle" and has "a poor sense of scale". he'll be dead by lunchtime :)

Heh, thought it was Jantar Mantar for a moment there.
Were you on one of the Santa boat trips?

Very cool. What is that orange segment shaped building to the right?

h - nope, just there to see the wheel and take some pics. the canals are quite nice but I don't recommend visiting falkirk - it's a dive.

w - your comment momentarily confused me - I started looking in the picture for an orange coloured building! you gotta understand I'm a bit colourblind. the fruit-segment building is the visitor centre.

well you made me look it up what an amazing bit of engineering - maybe your mate is right - 'cos I wouldn't have had a clue if I hadn't looked it up :)

I think your pal is a little outspoken. I hope you killed him slowly. Anyway I like the picture. The angles and contrasts and subtle colours are fascinating.

Good shot. Fruit shaped segment make me think of terry's choc orange. Yum.

Scale is fine. We planned to visit this on Scotland tour this but didn't even make it to Scotland in the end. It's an amazing thing that wheel.

I think it is a great shot. I had to look it up, too. The architecture is amazing, and moving that much water is mind blowing!
