"And as you cross the circle line,
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You're a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly
In the corner of your eye,
Shining in the setting sun.
Well do you ever get the feeling
That the story's too damn real
And in the present tense.
Or that everbody's on the stage
And it seems like you're the only
Person sitting in the audience

Skating away, skating away, skating away On the thin ice of the new day"

My first sightings this year of Mourning Doves and Grackles. I have missed the Dove's song so very much; and it's wonderful to hear the Grackles busy clacking and whistling up in the trees.

Thank you, Shitake. The doves are always very shy at first and it was windy, making a clear shot difficult. Doves like the shutter noise though, so they obliged me. :)

Thank you, Mara. Seeing (and hearing) these birds really made my day.

we have a pair of these silly doves that visit us every year, they build their pathetically sparse little nests balancing them in the bendiest(?) trees and I hope for the best every year...they are beautiful birds :-)

Aaaw. These looked to be a pair, I'd love to have a nesting pair. They are beautiful, but with a very silly side. :)
