"And as you cross the circle line,
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You're a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly
In the corner of your eye,
Shining in the setting sun.
Well do you ever get the feeling
That the story's too damn real
And in the present tense.
Or that everbody's on the stage
And it seems like you're the only
Person sitting in the audience

Skating away, skating away, skating away On the thin ice of the new day"

Wow !
absolutely fantastic shots.....I love a rainbow me.....

Caine says:

Thank you, Paintist! There was a magnificent thunderstorm yesterday, thundergrumbling, lightning, high winds, heavy rain and hail. Then, this beautiful rainbow. I noticed the light from my studio window, saw the bow, pulled on my jeans and ran outside. The light was intense. Such a gift. :D

jadehawk says:

what's the dead plastic thing in the last picture?

14th Apr 2010, 22:39

Caine says:

Jadehawk, it's a windsock. It normally hangs from the wall on one side of the deck. The storm ripped it out of the wall, and it landed on the deck.

Bill Dauphin says:

And here I thought the windsock was a Rainbow Sky Squid! ;^)

Gorgeous pix, Caine!

14th Apr 2010, 23:19

Caine says:

Thanks, 540! I was amazed, I spent time getting soaked, just staring. It made everything look beautiful.

14th Apr 2010, 23:20

540air says:

Looks like the soaking was well worth it :)

14th Apr 2010, 23:21

Caine says:

:D It was. You don't get something like that often enough.

Kostika says:

So lovely. If it's that bright in the pictures it must have been like a beacon in person.

15th Apr 2010, 17:21

Caine says:

Thanks, Kostika. It was, the light was incredible. The whole town just glowed. I need to learn more about photographing light.

Pretty certain Bruce Schneier had a Rainbow Sky Squid. Check out http://www.google.com/search?domains=www.schneier.com&sitesearch;=www.schneier.com&q;=squid&hq;=inurl%3Awww.schneier.com%2Fblog

Thank you, Wendle. A Bow like that doesn't come along too often.

Thank you, Shitake. :)

Thanks, Kostika. I really do need to learn more about light, my knowledge is really lacking in that area.

Frog51, thank you, thank you!

Thank you, Dhamaka. :)

Factotum, yes, it was dramatic. The combination of sunset and rainbow was overwhelming.

Thank you, IceTwister. :)
