Last day at real world for Guy. The boys were working on a new song over Skype again and they're all happy with the three songs Guy has been writing words for. As you can see. x

I know you're all busy and so forth, but I'm rather hoping that you'll be taking the now available headling slot at Glastonbury...

Glastonbury would be so cool. Even one of the blank slots on smaller stages. Anything. Or how about Lowlands again?

First time I heard of you was via Rathergood.com's Independent Woman kitty vid. It amused me. Later I read in an Ian Rankin book that Rebus listened to Elbow. Cool. Then my son told me that he was using Elbow's "Grounds For Divorce" as his first song to use in drum lessons. One night he played "One Day Like This" so loud I couldn't go to sleep. It was a pretty sound but I was tired. The next day he played it again. ELBOW?? Yeah, we bought the album, listen to it constantly, tell everyone we know about it, and my singing lessons now include Mirror Ball, One Day Like This, Grounds For Divorce. And I'll move some others in later. My singing instructor now hums Elbow. Welcome to Keswick, Ontario, Boys.

My daughter, who is 4 has been introduced to Elbow through the Peter Kay Children in Need single. I agree it's not exactly like the good old days when you found exciting bands through the NME or late night radio 1, but I say whatever gets the job done.

And today in the car she asked my to switch off the CBeebies CD and put Elbow on, and promptly sang along to 'One Day Like This'.

As an 42 year old Elbow fan since 2001 ish, I'm not ashamed to say that I cried.

Now I've got to get her listening to the rest of The Seldom Seen Kid and my work will be done and I can die happy.

I saw Elbow twice in concert last year, Edinburgh Corn Exchange & the homecoming gig in Manchester. Best 2 concerts of my life. My 3 year old loves Elbow too, and the look of concentration on her face whilst singing the "woOooooooooO" bit on Grounds For Divorce is a sight to behold. Miss you guys, see you again next year!!!

Just discovered your band, eagerly awaiting new album after just digesting all of your previous releases! Incredible! Where have you boys been all my life! You make a wee lad from Aberdeen living in Arkansas, USA proud and happy!
