Life at the Allotment
1) Tomato plants. I'm not sure we have enough? We need to off load some, but everyone i've offered some to has turned me down!?
2) My first corn!! Really need to plant it out, but don't have the space for it, yet. Plus i need the only other two to have germinated so far to speed up or i won't actually get any corn from it, psh.
3) Bijou peas have done a sudden spurt this week. Finally starting to climb the string :)
4) Any one know what this is? It has suddenly taken over an area very close to where we dug over and planted our potatoes.
Knackering, but very satisfying work!

taniwha - I don't! I can't do much bending or digging without my lower back starting to ache a lot. But there are two of us, so we take it in turns.

I hit the garden hard twice last summer and both times I stuffed my back up pretty seriously. So that's it for me. Weird thing is, weekend before I'd hiked up Trevan with a sizeable pack on my back. No ill effects. I suppose it's about pacing. My in-laws recommend no dig gardening which I quite like the sound of.

Looking good! That's a lot of tomatoes. Don't let the unknown plant overtake your potatoes.

If that plant/weed is balsam, it would apparently burst it's seeds upto 7 feet; so i pulled them all up this afternoon :D
