QSS quickly sussed that the Dr was in fact the most feared being in the universe so the box was for him, but that said, my heart was in my mouth when they sealed him in
will Capn' Jack be there to save them all next week?
Yes! What a cliffhanger!
It is clear to me that Cpt Jack and Torchwood could easily save the Whoniverse but I doubt very much if RTD will allow Jack to appear in it ... : (
I can't believe I'm at an event next Saturday, thank heavens for iPlayer
my only disappointment is the new Daleks – they look like iDaleks, available in five different colours, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB etc . . .
I'm guessing that the BBC retain the copyright on Captain Jack and his crack band of incompetent, mostly dead Welsh people so I'm guessing it's more down to Barrowman's schedule than RTD vetoing anything. Plus Moffat should rightly be telling his own stories rather than just repeating old, played out characters.
And the new Daleks are great!
Why can't it be next Saturday now arrrrgh.
I've heard Rumours about the voice. Implications be awesome, yo. Although to be fair 99% of the rumours I hear about the finale about this time of the run turn out to be utterly wrong. I'm looking forward to this year being the first non-disappointing-finale-after-excellent-setup since Eccleston left. Surely.
@Rich
Yup new Daleks are great, they have a little old school quality about them. In fact the whole of this series has had a bit of a 60's/70's flavour. Introducing a bit of the whimsical edge that has been missing in this new run at the Doctor. I think Moffat has done an excellent job and hopefully this wil be the end of the messianic style Doctor that RTD injected into the whole thing.
I have high hopes for this finale, hopefully the Whoniverse will settle for a while and reach the hieghts of creative excellence that were achieved in the 70's.
I watched and love it too and I'm not the biggest fan though watch it when its on. Shocker with the Rory thing as well. Nearly burnt a hole in the ironing! Shocker :-O
Thanks folks. Always happy to host Dr Who chat.
With this new wave of DW I had really hoped for a return of my own childhood favourite Who baddies, the Ice Warriors.
Maybe next series... : )
They teased us with the possibility of 'em in Waters of Mars... They'll show up eventually, how could they not (even from the mercenary standpoint of renewing copyright or keeping the toy range flowing steadily).
The big list of monsters that showed up to stick the doc in the box included villains dating back to Hartnell and even from the 90's novels, which opens up a whole new realm of possible returning monsters although admittedly they wouldn't really be returning monsters for 99.9% of the audience. Would be cool though!
