Leven's Year 5/6 hockey team travelled to take part in Bridlington Hockey Club's annual hockey tournament for schools on Sunday the 18th July. The team made up of Captain Joe, Marysia, Elliot, James, Leo, Findlay and James, returned to defend the trophy, which they won last year in a mixed team with Skirlaugh Primary. They played some fantastic hockey and made several coaches from other clubs stand up and take notice of them!

Leven first played Hornsea A in a 1-1 draw, followed by a 6-0 win over Hornsea B. Leven were then held to a 0-0 draw by last year's finalists, Martongate Primary, meaning that they needed a win in the final game against Bay Primary to retain the trophy. After a cautious 5 minutes, Leven found their scoring flair again, eventually winning 7-0! Over the course of the day everyone got well involved in all the games (nearly everyone scored at least one goal) and had a really good day out, topped off with a medal and some silverware to help them to remember their day!

Thank you to Russ & Bridlington Hockey Club for organising a great day, and a big thank you to all the parents who supported the team and transported them to and from the event,
Well done to all the children for playing some fantastic hockey, I was thoroughly proud of the way the team went about their games and how they represented the school. Well done! I hope you continue to enjoy and take part in hockey next year.
