Viv - yep, i never see the stars anymore. Was back in uk 2 weeks ago for a wedding in devon and I was gawping at the sky was carpeted with stars.

Rhys - it knows how to rain in NYC. It's never drizzle. It's always absolutely torrential and you basically has no hope of not getting soaked. Even if you have an umbrella, you'll be standing on the pavement and a bus will surge through a puddle and a tidal wave of road water will drench you from head to toe.

Sounds like you love it there

Would love to see NYC but think I will always choose to live under a starry sky ( a bit drier and warmer would be good though - a recent trip to Sardinia where the roads were empty, the sky incredibly starry and the night air smelling of pine and eucalyptus ...... tempting.....)
