I'm going to have to check what it is - I bought it online in a mad succulent buying spree. It could be anything I tell you! When it arrived, all the leaves had fallen off and I thought it was a goner.

absolutely a Brighamia insignis, a rare plant native to coastal Hawaii. Says there is only one plant left in the wild, and it exists now because scientists and gardeners have carefully pollinated the flower, and raised the plants from seeds. Sounds like the moth that once did that work is double congrats, and will you be pollinating soon?

I'm solemnly considering propagation but my knowledge goes only as far as "take little brush and brush it around the flowers." Do you think I need to know much more than that?

And it's still blooming! It's so nice when something grows despite of everything potentially wrong. :)
