The following is Elliot and George's report of the competition that led up to Leven playing at the KC Stadium.

19th January 2011 football tournament

Elliot, George, Jack T, James F, Mason, Brandon, Findlay and Beth all went to the football tournament at the K.C stadium.

We started off just having a kick about and warming up, getting every one involved, but things were not good. Beth hadn’t arrived yet; as the event manager called all the teams together we saw Beth jogging towards the pitch. The event manager explained all the rules to us, like no offsides, back pass is allowed and so on.

Our first game started off well. Jack did a long shot which the goalkeeper saved. Soon after Jack got close up to the goal and scored. We were 1-0 up as the game went on we kept it together and at the end of the game it was still 1-0.

In the second game we got an early goal, scored by Elliot. We kept it until after the half time whistle, then after half time they got a goal back; we were shocked. They soon got another goal, disaster, we were 2-1 down. As the whistle went for full time our confidence was blown.

We needed to win the last game or else we wouldn’t go through to the next round. A run down the wing by Elliot and a shot which slipped under the goal keepers body, we were 1-0 up. If it stayed like this we would go through. Just before the half time whistle went, we got another goal. We were certain we would go through. Mason did some important tackles to keep them out. The final whistle went. We were through to the next round.

Miss branch- Evans was friends with the head coach so we got a free tour round the k.C stadium we looked around all the important places like the dressing rooms and the sideline of the pitches. As we set home we were all excited about playing on the following Thursday.
